For Sponsors / Children Living in New Zealand

  • Yes. Immigration New Zealand requires evidence of compliant medical insurance to be provided as part of the Parent Boost Visa application, so cover needs to be in place before applying.

  • Yes. As the sponsor or child living in New Zealand, you can organise and pay for the policy locally on your parents’ behalf.

  • No. Travel insurance is generally designed for short trips and often excludes ongoing or long-term medical care. This policy is purpose-built for long-term visitors and meets Immigration New Zealand’s medical insurance standards for Parent Boost Visa holders.

  • In most cases, yes. The policy is designed to be renewed annually, even if your parent’s health changes during their stay. This helps ensure continuity of cover without needing to start again each year.

For Visiting Parents

  • No medical examination is required to apply for this cover. Please note that pre-existing medical conditions are not automatically included unless specifically approved under the policy.

  • Yes. The policy provides cover for a range of unexpected medical needs, including doctor visits, hospital treatment, surgery, and prescribed medication, up to the benefit limits set out in the policy wording.

  • Yes. Cover applies nationwide and includes access to both public and private medical services where applicable.
